1) Welcome back Casscade and congratulations on the release of your brand

new EP Found the remote lost the control. what was the inspiration behind

the project ?

CASSCADE: Thank you . It’s crazy to see my vision finally come to life in all its glory. To answer this question I would simply have to say life man. That is the simplest but truest answer. My music is just a true reflection of my thoughts and experiences. The past few years have been testing so it was a testament to that time. Truth be told, I felt as though my journey was coming to a close but I couldn’t go through with it. The road I walk on always leads back to music somehow. I guess it really is my calling.

2) This extended play project is very different from your previous EPs, could

you explain how you grown as an artist since your first music project?

CASSCADE: As a person I’ve changed so much. I’m sharper, wiser and more self aware. I’m still growing but I’m definitely in a new space. I feel like over the last few years my introspection has heightened and this all just mirrored in the music.  I’m also the type of person that always likes to challenge myself. Like, in my mind I tell myself, what kind of disservice would I be doing as an artist if I wasn’t musically pushing the bar? The aim is to make the music I dream of. Not many artists can do that. I feel like this is the beginning of that!

3) You’ve come a long way from your early days , with this EP what are your

hopes for fans and supporters listening to it, is there anything you hope they

learn or want them to experience ?

CASSCADE: That it’s ok to stop and evaluate your time on this earth. The highs and lows are inevitable. I learned the hard way that chasing money is a good distraction but more times out of ten, those life issues or internal issues don’t disappear; they get bigger and manifest in ways you may not see at first. This is about understanding yourself, the situations surrounding you and accepting what is and what isn’t.

4) Now along with your EP you also released a stunning short film , how did

this idea come about and what made you choose a dystopian style film?

CASSCADE : A short film was something I always wanted to do. The dystopian idea I personally felt brought the reality of the world I was in to life. Things were dark. Surrounded by problems. Most of which were completely out of my control that I was trying to piece together. I was so focused on my issues, when I finally looked up, it felt like the world got darker and when I spoke to people, SO many others were also going through hard times but you wouldn’t think it. Essentially, everyone was wearing a mask. If you really listen to the music line for line and pay attention to the visuals, so much is being said in the film man. It’s crazy. Even the ending is symbolic.

5) What were your favourite memories from filming and creating this project,

did you enjoy working with the production team?

CASSCADE: Do you want to hear something CRAZY? Besides Real Love… We shot the entire film in ONE DAY. It was a 15 hour day. I created the treatment for the entire film, including the extras, the props and basically made a step by step of how it should go. Shoutout my guy Honey JD; He filmed and edited it and also had some GREAT input for certain scenes. My favourite memory was definitely the woods part for “Day and night”. It was originally supposed to be shot somewhere else but we found the woods nearby and improvised. It just felt cinematic in there.

6) Lastly, you’ve had a brilliant year so far with the EP and short film out the

way what’s next for you, are you working on anything or got any live shows

lined up ?

CASSCADE: I appreciate the words man. We’ll see. Who knows, I might pop out with a surprise show at the end of the year or something. I’ve already started experimenting with new music but we’ll see… For now it’s Found The Remote Lost The Control season! Be sure to follow Casscade online via Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok
